STATUS Department Diversion Program

The Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan's Diversion Program is a key part of JJR (Juvenile Justice Reform) initiative, offering community-based alternatives to traditional court proceedings. By providing interventions such as counseling, community service, and educational programs, the program addresses the root causes of the behavior that led to the offense. It helps youth gain the support and rehabilitation they need, all while keeping them out of the formal justice system.
Diversion Programs are designed to help youth involved in minor offenses avoid the formal justice system while still being held accountable for their actions. The goal is to provide them with an opportunity to make amends, learn from their mistakes, and develop skills for positive behavioral change.
