Felix O’Aku Named Chief Financial Officer for Third Judicial Circuit

Felix O’Aku is Named Chief Financial Officer of Third Circuit Court

Felix brings an impressive and global background in financial leadership to the Court, including  a decade serving as Agency Chief Financial Officer for the City of Detroit. Throughout his career, Felix has garnered extensive experience working in both the private and public sectors, including executive leadership roles in Poland and The Netherlands. Notably, Felix previously served as CFO of Michigan Gas Utilities Corporation and as Finance Director and CFO of Hendrix-ISA, USA, a joint venture between the U.S. and The Netherlands. 

Felix is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. He earned a Certificate in Strategic Financial Analysis for Businesses from Harvard Business School. Most importantly, Felix is a United States Army veteran.

“Felix has an incredible background of knowledge and success, and a history of working in Wayne County that will blend well with our talented and busy Budget & Finance department,” says Third Circuit Court Chief Judge Patricia Perez Fresard. “He has both the financial accreditations and the personality to be a major asset for the court.” 

Felix will be counted on to utilize his deep understanding of financial strategy to advance the Court's fiscal health and operational efficiency. “I’m excited to be joining the largest Circuit Court in the state and to remain working in the city of Detroit,” Felix says. “This is a tremendous opportunity to be part of a great team charged with serving the needs of Wayne County residents.”
