Resources for Children and Families Through the Third Circuit Court

Detroit, MI - The Adoption and Foster Care Outreach Program partners with Michigan Children’s Law Center to provide resources for children and families through the Third Circuit Court on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Fellowship Baptist Church located at 7707 West Outer Drive, Detroit, MI 48235. The Court will provide essential resources for children and families in need.

The Third Circuit Court is committed to serving families in Wayne County and this forum showcases the Family Division and wraparound service agencies that create a village of support. The Honorable Judge Edward Joseph of Third Circuit Family Division will deliver the keynote. Judge Joseph leads the Juvenile Mental Health Court program and welcomes this opportunity to engage the community and help children. Judge Joseph said, "Our greatest asset is our youth. Protecting, nurturing, and empowering our youth will create a society that we can all be proud of."

Meeting and exceeding the expectations of families in Wayne County is tough work. The three key components to Third Circuit Court’s success comes from the collaborative efforts amongst the Juvenile Mental Health Court, the Clinic for Child Study, and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Working with a team of community organizations committed to serving families and providing practical resources to the community is what makes the difference. The organizations co-sponsoring this forum include, the Michigan Children’s Law Center, Faith Community Coalition, JEWJCC Prison Ministry, and JEWJCC Grandparents Ministry.

The entire community is welcome to join the forum. Numerous resources for children returning to school, families, and social services will be available. Amour Bridal Shop has also donated formal dresses for homecoming and prom.

Interviews are available upon request and the media is welcomed. Please contact Judge Edward Joseph (313) 833-1567.
