The Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan joins with the Detroit Bar Association (DBA) to host the new attorney mass swearing in ceremony.

WHO: The Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan joins with the Detroit Bar Association (DBA) to host the new attorney mass swearing in ceremony. Chief Judge Colombo will preside over the Admission Ceremony, Hon. Prentis Edwards, Jr. will deliver the welcoming address, and Hon. Mariam Bazzi will administer the Oath. DBA President Donn Fresard will extend an invitation to the newly admitted attorneys to join the DBA free of charge for one year. Guests and media are invited to join in the celebration.
   
WHAT: Lawyers contribute in various ways, helping clients directly and holding public offices of trust. Admission to the bar is the culmination of years of study and the successful passing of a rigorous exam. New Lawyers will take the oath of the profession. The admission ceremony marks the beginning of individuals beginning the practice of law and is celebrated with friends and family as the venerated lawyers and judges welcome the new lawyers into the profession.
   
WHERE: Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, 13th Floor Auditorium,
Two Woodward Ave., Detroit, MI 48226
   
WHEN: Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Chief Judge will begin the actual swearing in at 12:00 p.m. and all attendees should be seated.
   
WHY: The practice of law is held in high esteem. New attorneys are admitted twice per year. Inspirational and aspirational stories will be shared by the newly admitted attorneys, the DBA leadership, and the Chief Judge.
