Bench Warrant Amnesty

Do you or someone you know have a Wayne County Friend of the Court civil child support warrant?

Wayne County Friend of the Court is here to help.

The Wayne County Friend of the Court is forgiving the warrants of those who pay $500 per warrant. The program starts off on Saturday, April 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Saturday event is at the Detroit Public Library, 5201 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Michigan. The event continues from April 10-13 and April 17-21, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Parties can come to the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, Room 1907, to talk to someone about their warrant. The program is an arrest free zone.

This is a chance for the mothers and fathers who pay child support to make a new start. Parents can come in, make the required payment, and discuss their cases. Parents can resolve their warrants without the threat of arrest. Parents can learn about the State Discharge of Arrears program, how to change their child support amount, and more.
Parents with child support bench warrants are sometimes afraid of being arrested. They may not seek help because of this fear. This Amnesty Program offers a break to those who are serious about addressing their child support arrears.
