Subject: State of Emergency and Essential Services Continue

Detroit, MI – During the State of Emergency, as declared by Governor Whitmer and as directed by the Michigan Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court will continue to provide essential services throughout its divisions.

Governor Whitmer has extended the State of Emergency through April 13, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.  Chief Judge Kenny has issued public notices and orders for each division as to essential services.  All jury trials have been suspended, and court services are being provided remotely where possible.

In accordance with Wayne County Public Health Order #20-02, all judges, court staff, and anyone else entering court buildings are required to complete a screening to ensure they have no coronavirus symptoms, no recent plane travels, and no exposure within the past 14 days with anyone who has been diagnosed with the virus.

The most up-to-date information regarding court services is posted on 3rdcc.org.

The Court will continue to treat the issue seriously, and will monitor the situation through contact with local public health officials.
