Michigan law prohibits court employees from giving legal advice
On-Site Assistance – Visitors have to go through security & comply with security requirements in that location.
- Michigan Legal Self-Help Centers
- CAYMC, 2 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, Fridays 9am-3pm (sign in by 1:30pm)
- Computers and Self-Help Center staff (called “navigators”) help visitors find information & court forms on the website & answer basic questions about court procedures.
- Navigators cannot give legal advice.
- Salvation Army/William Booth Legal Aid Clinic

The Detroit Legal Services Clinic
- The Detroit Legal Services Clinic provides information and advice from volunteer attorneys in the areas of: Divorce, Child Support, Domestic Relations Issues, Expungements, Bankruptcy, Probate, Real Estate, Landlord Tenant, and other Civil Law Issues.

- ACCESS: Arab Community Center for Economic & Social Services – 6450 Maple, Dearborn MI 48126 – 2nd Friday of every month, 9am-3pm
- Focus: HOPE- 1200 Oakman Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48238 – 3rd Wednesday of every month, 9am-3 pm.
